Planning Focus is a medium-sized planning and resource management consultancy formed in 2004, staffed by senior planners and based in Auckland.

Planning Focus focuses on property development projects primarily in Auckland (but also throughout New Zealand) and undertakes all aspects of planning and resource management work. Planning Focus takes pride in the quality of their advice, and reporting and are well respected industry professionals. We work without fanfare in complete confidence and are proud of our stable client base, which includes off-shore companies, listed property trusts and other public companies, private property and investment companies and higher net worth families and individuals.

Planning Focus can assist with due diligence, development and consent management, the preparation of resource consent applications, special housing areas, notices of requirements, plan changes, outline plans, structure plans integrated development plans, strategic policy advice, community stakeholder engagement and representations at council, court and tribunals.

Key People

Alistair White is the founder and managing director of Planning Focus. He has over twenty years planning experience, the vast majority of which has been in a consultancy capacity, and has been a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute since 1993. Alistair is particularly well regarded for his commercial acumen, and specializes in strategic advice, planning due diligence and development management.

Paul Arnesen is an associate of Planning Focus. He has over seventeen years planning experience and is a highly competent planning professional with an impressive understanding of the workings of the Resource Management Act and District Plans.

Planning Focus is staffed by several other senior planners and support staff.
